Honoring Stephanie Nicole Grant-Gladden

It is with deep sadness that the Charleston County Housing & Redevelopment Authority Board of Commissioners & CEO Angela Childers announce that Stephanie Nicole Grant-Gladden died May 4th, 2024.

The Pilgrimage Life of Stephanie Nicole Grant-Gladden began on October 3, 1969, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Stephanie attended the Public Schools of Charleston County at E.B. Ellington Elementary, R.D. Schroder Middle, and Baptist Hill High School.
Stephanie was a 1989 Graduate of Baptist Hill High.
Stephanie matriculated at the Trident Technical College where she earned her associate degree then furthered her education at Southern Wesleyan University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services.

Church was a major inspirational focus in Stephanie's life.

As she committed her life to Christ and accepted Jesus as her personal savior, she became a member of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Stephanie served in the following ministries: the Junior Choir (Vice President), The Young Adult Choir, Youth Ministry Advisor, the Willing Workers Committee, Pastor Travel Coordinator, and Lovely Hill Night Under the Stars Annual Coordinator.
In addition, she assisted with the Food Bank.

Stephanie was the first female Trustee of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She also developed weekly church programs and bulletins.
Stephanie consistently extended her gifts and talents to other ministries within the church body.

Stephanie was employed with Charleston County Housing and Redevelopment Authority for twenty-five years.
Stephanie served as Carolina's Council of Housing Redevelopment and Codes Officials (CCHRCO) Chairman of the Resident Services Committee, where she was responsible for hosting events for low-income residents across North Carolina and South Carolina.

Stephanie was one of the South Carolina Resident Initiatives Coordinators, holding multiple positions including president.
In addition, she organized and hosted conferences and Resident Coordinator Retreats.

Stephanie fondly known as "Ms. Bossy" was a member of The Distinctive Jewelz Motorcycle Club (Treasurer), the Charleston Fallen Riderz Motorcycle Association, 4LifeLovers Social Group, as well as Black Girls Run.
Stephanie hosted the Annual Bikers Thanksgiving Feast for her residents at Brighton Place.

Stephanie Nicole Grant-Gladden, a legacy in her own right. A Beautiful Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Godmother, Auntie, Niece, Friend, and Christian... A Life Well Lived...

Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Joseph Grant, Sr.; maternal grandparents, the late Otis Edward and Ethel Green; paternal grandparents, the late Solomon and Catherine Grant; brother, Mr. Otis Grant; grandchildren, Da,Naria and Jeremiah Grant; and cousin, Clarenda Ancrum-Freeman.

Stephanie leaves to celebrate her life, perpetuate her legacy, and cherish her fond memories, her children, Nicole Louise Grant Gladden and Rodney Dynel Gladden, Jr., both of Ravenel, SC; mother, Mrs. Luise Grant of Ravenel, SC; devoted friend, Mr. Rodney Gladden, Sr.; two grandchildren, De'Ontae Dynel Moten and De'reonna Raniyah Gladden; siblings, Karen Grant-Orage (Lawrence) of Hardeeville, SC and Joseph Grant (Tammy) of Ravenel, SC; three God-children: Jordan Simmons, Aliyah Green, and Dontrell Ford, Jr.; God-Sister, Shontavia Chisolm-Harrison (Marvin); best friend whom she adored as a sister, Yolanda "Diva" Harley; special friends that she often called her Golden Girls: Tonya Truesdale-Johnson, Monice Brown-Oliver, Faith Drayton-Washington, Tammy Butler-Dyley, Jonetta Gregory-Simmons, and Octavia Mathews, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
